There is also the option to make instruments out of old junk and everyday items highlighting the benefits of recycling .This is a great activity for developing a performance for carnivals and shows.
Djembe drumming -
Traditional West African Djembe drums are a great way to learn rhythms and learn how other cultures make music. The drums are easy to use and a class can be playing together in no time at all. Djembe drumming is great for developing coordination skills and has proved useful in numeracy. Can be worked up to performance level to make your event go off with a bang.
‘SoundWave worked within our School with all our children from Nursery right through to Year 2 children. The children and staff have benefited greatly and look forward each week to the sessions. Their sense of rhythm and ability to keep a steady beat has improved dramatically. An excellent, enjoyable session which I would recommend to everyone.’
