Level Up Level Up is a yearlong project run by Storytree, Theatre by the Lake. It is a project that aims to support the transition of all the year 6 pupils in the Workington Schools Cluster from primary to secondary school and inspire them with high quality theatrical experiences. The project involves two visits to Theatre by the Lake, a follow on workshop and a celebration of all the work that has been produced by the participants over the year. Storytree would like to engage with as many performers and non-performers to take part in a particular element of the project. The Story of Captain George Oldmajiggins The second piece of theatre the participants will see on the 14th and 15th February is a performance about a character called Captain George Oldmajiggins, a salty sea dog of old who has spent his life travelling the seven seas. The piece, in the main house, will tell the story of his life through shadow puppetry, storytelling and song. Alongside this performance we are going to transform the theatre into a galleon for the two days and place a number of small performance pieces around the building, this might be characters, musicians, singers anything and anybody who can help transform the theatre into a nautical wonderland and add to this wacky world of madness.
