Band Out

The Young Vocal Leaders Residentiall saw 14 young people from across Cumbria take part in an intensive 3 days of sharing, skills developing and creating with Sarah Wallcook, Stephen Hudson and Steven Pearson. The young people were brilliant! They created new songs and games for young children, wrote and recorded their own material, performed to one another, and led one another in the new songs, games and warm-ups that they had devised together.

During the micro-teaching sessions the young people offered one another reflective feedback, boosted one another's confidence and challenged each other further. 7 young people have signed up to do their Silver Arts Award, one will start on Gold and another submitted her Bronze Award whilst at the residential.

Project ideas from the Young Vocal Leaders include volunteering at local primary schools, running a charity performance, getting involved with local arts organisations, projects and initiatives and leading on SoundWave performances.
