The Roots Stage at
Kendal calling
Over the last couple years we have worked in partnership of Generator and BBC Introducing to manage the Roots stage at Kendal Calling!
Our focus is giving the opportunity of performing at Cumbia's biggest festival to local Cumbrian artists.
If you would like a chance to play The Roots Stage, every spring, Kendal Calling release an 'apply to play' application - Watch out for this on their website!
Open Mics
In partnership with Whitehaven library, we have set up regular Open mics, the dates are as follows:
Tuesday 24th March 5-7pm (Young persons open mic)
Tuesday 21st April 7-9pm (Adults open mic)
Tuesday 14th July 5-7pm (Young persons open mic)
Tuesday 20th October 7-9pm ( Adults open mic)
Tuesday 8th December 5-7pm (Young persons open mic)
Our Open Mics for 11-19yrs are in partnership with the Safer Streets programme, acting as a free creative activity for young people. We also host over 19s Open Mic nights. All have been very well attended!

Soundwave Cumbria
Muncaster Fringe
On the 22nd of August 2026, Soundwave will be taking over Muncaster Fringe at Muncaster Castle!
Muncaster Fringe events are a series of events over the year, taking place across Cumbria, these are all about celebrating local talent and creative partnerships.

Esk Fest Woolpack Takeover
This year Soundwave will be programming and running the Woodpack stage at Esk Fest 2026! The lineup is filled with up and coming artists from West Cumbria, be sure not to miss out!
Esk Fest is a remote arts festival in Eskdale Valley, and is the #1 Micro festival in the Lake District.
Eskdale will be running from the 9-11th of July. See you there!

Krankenhaus Soundwave Takeover
Soundwave will be taking over The Glade stage at Krankenhaus festival for the 3rd year running!
We will be hosting performances from our DisChord Choir and Soundwave artists as part of the lineup. We will also be providing the sound for the stage.
Krankenhaus is a festival ran at Muncaster Castle from the 28th-30th of August.

Band nights at the Carnegie
In March 2026, we hosted our first of a series of band events at the Carnegie theatre in Workington. This was an all young bands lineup, with performances from Dejected, Clarity and Aphid.
This event was extremely successful and well attended, we can not wait for the next one!

Off to the local
in partnership with Off the pier promotions (2027 coming soon)
During May 2026, we hosted a days music programme between our building, 72 King Street and The Whittington Cat, as a part of the one day festival, 'Off to the local', taking place across Whitehaven.
This event was all about celebrating local artists and bringing out the community spirit of the town!
This day was very successful and we can not wait to be apart of it again in 2027!
